This is the Green river west of Moab. It loops around 7 river miles but only gets you 1/4 mile of ground distance. It was named by John Wesley Powell during his epic 1868 float trip that took him through the Grand Canyon. Jenny and I padded this river last year and we camped one night at the top of the bend.
