U 369 I figured I'd better git while the gitting was good. The hurricane abated somewhat around 2am. I broke camp in the dark and skeedattled at sunrise. I had good winds until about 11, then the damn river makes a turn to the west, into the wind. I ended the day on a stretch of river that had highway on both sides. My campsite standards are pretty low but I don't want to be road kill. I ended up doing 41 miles. I am beat. Before I crash I wanted to mention this. I paddled through Nauvoo Ill this aft!ernoon. This is the place where the Mormon prophet, Joseph Smith, was killed by a mob and where the Mormons started their trek to Salt Lake. There's a temple there and a monument at rivers edge.
Good to hear that you are making good mileage. Sounds like a good time to camp out on the shoulder of the road. You could bunk with a bum. We are going to FL this weekend for Christy's wedding. I will try to get you some more loyal followers. You will be famous by the time you finish.
