Tail winds are good. Ferocious tail winds, not so much. Made it to Hannibal about 2:30. Jenny had coordinated with the harbor master for my dockage. They both met me as I paddled up. A very pleasant sight, believe me! I got situated at the Marina and Jenny hauled me and most of my dirty, wet, smelly gear to the Best Western. Very nice. I returned to civility and then we visited some of Samuel Clemons (Mark Twain's) old haunts. Had a fantastic dinner in an old bordello and returned to the bestest Best Western. Tomorrow, I make some boat repairs with parts Jenny brought, laundry and more calories.
So Dave you are going to spend two nocs in Hannibal, good for you, rest up, what kind of repairs, you don't have a hole in the boat do you? I worried about that with all this going down the river, you have to have hit a few rocks or whatever! Have a nice few days off, I have been waiting for your bog this noc, now I am going to bed and read a book. Nighty noc. Pat
ReplyDeleteDave, Diane doesn't believe you are doing this. We crossed the River at Vicksburg, MS and she didn't see you anywhere!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the down time.

Glad you are safe and sound at the Best Best Western! Enjoy your time with Jenny and eat up!
