U574 It was sort of like passing a gall stone or something. There was grunting and straining and some foul language. I had a typhoon head wind all day. The lake that is behind lock 11 is 5 or 6 miles long and the wind was blowing right down the lake. Oh well, enough complaining. No, wait a minute, I've got one more. The lock was being worked on when my battle with the lake ended and the lockmaster told me it would be at least an hour. This is the federal gubment delay estimate. I elected to do a portage instead. It was a straight forward deal but I was already pretty tired. I saw the beach I'm camped on about 3:30 and I just couldn't pass it by. I only did 25 today but they we're hard earned. So now Illinois is on the left and Iowa is on the right. I've decided to send pics separate from the blog posts because sometimes Mr blogger rejects a post with pics and I have to do the whole thing all over. On that note I'm going to send a pic of some dill fry bread that I just made. It might be my best bread yet.
