U665 Today, this afternoon, I finally left Minnesota completely behind. It has been replaced by Iowa. It took nearly 5 weeks. This is no reflection on Mrs Bachman but I'm glad her state is behind me. Only one thing of any significance happened today. I came upon a barge that had somehow left the channel and become stuck in shallow water. There was an immense tow boat preparing to pull it into deeper water. The operation was being supervised by what appeared to me, to be a COE teenager. I offered to help but they told me my 1/2 horsepower wasn't needed. My sister Pat has expressed some concern to jenny about my Condition. She must have sensed something from my blog posts. Sisters! I'm physically fine. I'm having a little trouble getting my head straight. I'm going to have to do this every day for 6 more weeks? I'm processing that information. Jenny is providing councilling. I'm getting 9 hours of upper body workout, 9 hours of sleep and 6 hours of camp stuff. It's nearly bed time. 8.
We won't think any less of you if you want to quit early. Doesn't a nice Caribbean vacation sound relaxing? I'm sure mom would be game for that. At least you will have meathead arm muscles when you finish!
ReplyDeletepulling for you Dave and always thinking about you and the big river you are on. Pat
ReplyDelete"if it was easy it would'nt be worth doing" (quote by David Williams) Failure not an option, one paddle in front of the other, think about the pickles, and nacho cheese Doritos and the end of the trail/river. These motivational words are made in part by Seth Williams.
