U731 (unable to post this yesterday--no Gs---)I was paddling through a development and there was a fellow piddling around on his dock. I told him what I was up to and asked him if I could fill up a couple of my water bottles. I am now homeless and begging. He gladly helped me out and sent me on my way. As I was locking through Lock # 4 in Alma Wi. I noticed a gas station on the road that runs through town. Gas stations mean only one thing to me .....(PICKLES) sure enough they has those special pickles, individually wrapped, hot and spicy. Best pickle I've ever had. I had a good tail wind all day. I was able to maintain About 4mph most of the day. That is actually pretty pathetic. My boat is so grossly overloaded I can't get it to move. It's partially sunk. One more thing. These frigging trains. This is the 21st century for christ sake, we've got to come up with an alternative to blowing that stinking horn. My word. Jamie, this could be your get Rich and retire early idea. Come up with something quick. I'm sick of trains at 2 and 2:15 and 3:25 etc.
Sounds like a dream retirement trip! Maybe you could hook your boat up to the back of a barge so you will make better time. Connor is looking forward to come quality Poppi time in November when you come visit when the new baby comes. We're all keeping track of you.
ReplyDeleteTrains in the river?
ReplyDeleteWill send some noise-cancelling headphones to you, Dave (not sure how to get Amazon prime to deliver to the river). I'll get on the train horn replacement invention pronto. Stay safe, stop peeing in your boat (will help with the weight/sinking issue) and may you find many more gas stations along the way. We are all pulling for you! Send more videos!
