Sept 22

U512 Not much happened today. I did lock 13. I took a kind of shortcut near Clinton Iowa through an industrial canal. Huge plants lined the water. There were some unusual aromas emanating from them and all seemed to be discharging copious amounts of water of questionable quality back into the river. I have been sometimes using boiled river water  to prepare my meals. Not today. Jenny is looking into another hotel stay for me tomorrow. We'll see. I had to repair a small hole in my sleeping pad. The repair kit I used was purchased for me before I left by Beth and Tim Hosch. Way to go Hosches.
