L 665 I realized something today. I'm not 58 anymore. 8 hours of sitting in the saddle is about all my ancient ass can take. 8 hours equals about 40 miles. It looks like 6 MPH is going to be my average. I take a few breaks, drift a little and after starting at 8 I've had enough at 4. 40 miles. There was a dredging operation below my camp last night. The COE was dredging the channel so the river was effectively closed where the dredging was underway. It wasn't closed for me. I didn't need the main channel. There was a parking lot of tow boats below the dredge. I paddled for 2 hours and passed one after another. There is a 100% chance of rain tomorrow. What does that mean anyway? It's suppose to get cold too. As anyone who knows me can attest I am happiest when I'm miserable. At least that's what Jenny has observed. I should be happy tomorrow.
Ah, rain..to some, miserable happiness...to Texans..
ReplyDeletewell, I don't have to paddle in it, avoiding barges,
and keep focused..still, I wish it would rain...but not on Dave. Keep dry? Keep paddling
