Help identify this this oak

This oak is common along the river. It has an unusual acorn cap. Is there anyone who might help me identify it? (Begnaud - Carroll)?

  1. Quercus macrocarpa, or for the unscientific crowd, the burr oak. It's a large deciduous tree growing up to 30 meters tall and can have a trunk diameter as thick as 3 meters. The acorns are very large with a cup that wraps much of the way around the nut, With large overlapping scales and a fringe at the end of the cup. Try not to confuse it with the white oak or the overcup oak, which is often hybridizes with. I hopes this helps dad. Do I win a prize??
