Lake Winnibigoshish

U1247. That's really the name of the lake we are camped on tonight. It's Winny for short. We paddled 3 lake miles today with a scary tail wind, portaged around the dam and then did 11 river miles to this lake. This lake is so big we'll still be on it tomorrow. One weird thing happened yesterday. Jenny & I we're near the tent when we heard a loud bang in the vicinity of the boats. We were thinking fuel bottle. I went down there to find it was an inner tube on one of the portage cart wheels. It had been sitting in the sun and got too hot. Luckily I had another tube. I did let some air out of the rest of the tires. Another thing. Today we're making good time on the river and we come to a wall of cat tails. The river had no channel, believe me we looked. We found a soft spot and let'er rip. I set up a tow and we both had to fight through the muck. It was maybe 100 yards before we found a channel we could paddle. We've been seeing tons of wildlife. More on that tomorrow.

  2. So Dave, what do we do about the busted tire? Will you have it fixed at grand rapids or what? Hate for this to happen again, but you were prepared for the first one, are you prepared if it happens again, your sis, pat
