L 484 Jenny has been working on a Vicksburg overnight at a casino hotel. I'll do a full day tomorrow and get there mid day on Monday. She has also done some planning for my eventual arrival in N.O. It is up in the air still if she'll be able to be there. Seth & Courtney are going to make a weekend out of it and meet me probably on the 3rd or 4th. He'll haul the boat to S.A. and I'll fly to CLT. I hope I haven't jinxed the ending by mentioning it but that is the plan. This morning when I was loading the kayak I noticed quite a few animal tracks around my camp. When I finally pushed off I looked up and saw a beaver swimming next to me. He circled the boat and then dove out of sight. I fumbled with the video camera, but couldn't get a shot. That was a cool encounter. The last few days have been a slog. It's on the water at 8 and off the water at 4. I think I'm Closing in on 2000 miles. I'm ready for this to be over. 12 more days.
Good to see the bold went away! Stay warm, Dave! We are counting down the miles!
ReplyDeleteKeep on paddling..12 more days..outstanding accomplishment. Jenny has been the best support..flawless! You two make quite a team. I leave to fly to Pat's on Tuesday..start hauling the horses on Thursday. I hope that we don't run into any barges...or beavers.
ReplyDeleteI thought you told me you were going to turn around and head back, once you got to N.O.??
